Mission briefing · Operation Royale

A battle royale
the size of a
solar system

Six bodies. Six gravity wells. The map itself is in orbit — you fight all the way around every sphere, and the only road between worlds is the fuel in your jetpack. Last one standing wins.

Classic5 — the live match config, plotted to scale. Orbit radii, phases and periods are the game's real numbers (Rust circles every 150 s; Ash takes 450 s). The faint ring is the zone.

Briefing

01

Combat is spherical

There is no floor — only surfaces. Full third-person movement around spheres of every size: sprint over a planet's horizon, take a fight at the pole, flank someone by going the way the world curves. Your feet point at whatever owns you.

02

The map is in motion

The planets physically orbit the sun for the whole match. Standing on one carries you with it — every peer computes the same deterministic orbits, so the ground under your firefight is a moving platform everyone agrees on. The layout you dropped into is not the layout you'll die in.

03

Jetpacks are the roads

At least one jetpack spawns on every body. Burn straight up, escape the well, coast across open space, and let the next planet's gravity catch you. Fuel is finite and regenerates on the ground — every transfer is a commitment.

System manifest — Classic5

Every map is pure data. These are the shipping values; swap the config and the whole system regenerates.

Shape of a match

  1. DropScattered spawns across the system. Warmup is a free-for-all with respawns until the host calls the match.
  2. LootRifles, launchers, ammo and jetpacks on every surface. The sun holds the richest loot — and the deepest gravity to climb back out of.
  3. CollapseAfter a 45-second grace, the zone shrinks from 600 m to 90 m over six minutes. Outside it, you bleed. Planets keep orbiting — sometimes out from under the zone.
  4. EndgameThe survivors converge on whatever ground is left. Last one standing wins; everyone returns to the lobby for the rematch.

Mission status

Solar System Royale is in active development — and playable right now. The browser version runs anywhere a browser runs: open the URL, pick a callsign, launch. Send the same URL to friends and they're in your system. A native build also exists for hosted sessions.

One design rule holds throughout: everything about the solar system — planet count, sizes, gravity, orbits, spin, loot, zone timing — is map data. New maps are new data. Expect the numbers on this page to keep changing; that's the point.
